Aquilegia Vulgaris 'Ruby Port' (Columbine) 1 Gallon Pot

Ruby Port Columbine sports deep, wine red double, 3 inch blooms. The fully double flowers of Ruby Port are held upright on stiff, stems. Ruby Port is a wonderful garden perennial and also makes a great cut flower. As with all Aquilegia or Columbines, Ruby Port prefers compost-enriched soil with regular irrigation and protection from the afternoon sun. Grown and shipped in a 1 gallon nursery trade container. CULTURAL NOTES: Columbines hybridize readily in the garden, so try planting individual colors at least 20 feet away from each other to preserve their individuality over the years. NOMENCLATURE NOTES: 'Aquilegia' ( "Eagle's claw", referring to the flower morphology)
