A petite, tough little versatile shrub for the garden, Concorde Berberis adds unique contrast with deep, grape colored foliage that stays neat and tidy. At only 18 inches tall, and 18 inches wide, use Concorde Barberry as a front of the border plant, along walkways, planted in mass on gentle slopes, or as an accent plant in mixed container plantings. As with all Japanese Berberis, Concorde develops stunning fall foliage colors that vary from deep cherry-red to burnt-orange. Bracts of yellow flowers are borne in the spring, which then develop into clusters of tiny red berries.

Plant ‘Concorde’ in full sun in fertile, well-drained soil. Once established, it is drought tolerant in the garden. Due to its compact habit of growth, it does not require pruning. Outstanding deer resistance, this very hardy shrub is a wonderful landscape plant that will add texture and color to your garden. The rich deep burgundy foliage and small red berries are also useful when making holiday wreaths and arrangements.
