Fountain Grass: Pennisetum alopecuroides 'Hameln' 1 Gallon

One of the most popular Pennisetum cultivars that we grow, 'Hameln' sports deep, glossy green thin bladed leaves in the summer which turn burnt-orange in the fall. The compact growth habit makes it ideal for use in containers, along walkways or in the front of the perennial border. In late summer, compact silver-pinkish plumes appear and last into winter. Pennisetum also known as Fountain Grass is a graceful, soft ornamental grasses prized for its showy plumes, which come in a variety of colors ranging from light tan to smoky-purple.

How to Grow Pennisetum: Plant in full sun, sandy, clay or well-drained garden soil. Drought tolerant once established, provide consistent water during the summer months for best results. Fertilize with balanced organic fertilizer such as Down to Earth All Purpose in the spring and again in the summer.
