Cherry red flowers of Starfire Phlox are tinged with apricot. A hardy tall garden phlox that works best when used at the back of the perennial border.

CULTURAL NOTES: Tall garden Phlox grows best in full sun locations with good ventilation. Shady locations will decrease bloom size and quantity, and will increase disease problems such as powdery mildew. Plant phlox plants in well-drained soil, in an area that will receive consistent irrigation. Avoid overhead watering, and water early in the day rather than late afternoon for best results. Trim back spent blooms to promote new blooms throughout the season.
