Mortgage Lifter Heirloom Tomato Plant

Mortagage Lifter is the red variety of the classic variety from the 1940's. Originally bred by "Radiator Charlie" from several of his largest tomato producing plants. Charlie paid off the $6000 mortgage on his radiator shop by selling his plants for a buck apiece to gardeners who drove hundreds of miles every spring in the 1940's. Two to three pound fruits have that perfect "heirloom" tomato flavor. Super meaty with few seeds. Excellent slicer, and the beautifully lumpy fruits are perfect for farmers markets and farm stand sales. Indeterminate vines need to be staked.
