HOW TO GROW HOLLYHOCKS: Grow in average well-drained soil in full sun. Tolerates a wide range of soil conditions and a bit of light shade, but will not tolerate wet feet in the winter. Although short-lived, Hollyhocks self-seed readily and can establish colonies in the garden that persist for many years and generations. Be sure to let the seed pods fall to the ground - don't clean up your garden too early in the fall!
