A lovely and unique new hardy Hydrangea paniculata cultivar with massive two-toned, white and pink flowers. The strong upright red stems hold the large blooms up so you never get the drooping look you get from Pee Gee Hydrangea. This hardy Hygrangea creates a stunning effect as the flower heads continue to grow throughout the season and as the older flowers turn dark pink the new flowers continue to emerge white. A truly remarkable plant for the summer and autumn landscape. Beautiful for use as a cut (fresh or dried) flower. Plant with Hydrangea Limelight and Quick Fire® Hydrangea for months of hydrangea flowers.
As with all hydrangeas, PINKY WINKY HYDRANGEA prefers good, loamy soil. Most adaptable of all hydrangeas to different soil types. This hydrangea is the most urban tolerant of all hydrangeas and very difficult to kill. Best if pruned in late fall or early spring. Blooms on new wood. Make sure to prune off spent flowers when they turn brown. Medium moisture, not as water dependent as Hydrangea macrophylla. Well-established Hydrangeas will tolerate drought. Deciduous shrub. Fertilize in early spring by applying an organic fertilizer specialized for trees and shrubs. This shrub is grown and shipped in a 2 gallon nursery trade container. Shrubs are properly trimmed back prior to shipping.
