A fast growing showy vine with 4-6 inch long apricot-red trumpet shaped flowers. Trumpet vines require support to climb, therefore plant next to a trellis, arbor, fence or other garden structure. Once established in the garden, Trumpet vines are fairly drought tolerant. Attracts hummingbirds and butterflies.

CULTURAL: Grow Campsis in a sunny location. Plant in well-drained soil and provide consistent irrigation the first growing season to establish a healthy root system. Trumpet vines require only an annual application of a well-balanced organic fertilizer in the spring. Campsis are self-clinging climbers using aerial roots to attach their long stems to structures, but they will climber better when provided additional support such as wiring, or clipping to the trellis, wall, or arbor. It takes two or three years to establish a strong woody framework of branches before plants begin to flower well.
